One such quest involves a drunken boar NPC, who, when helped, grants access to the secret Kingdom of Sahi in Chapter 2. This guide will walk you through the steps to complete the boar’s questline and unlock this hidden area.
Step 1: Meet the Drunken Boar at Rockrest Flat
Begin by heading to the Fright Cliff shrine and fast-travel to Rockrest Flat. From here, move straight ahead until you encounter a large, circular meadow. In this area, you’ll find the drunken boar NPC. Initiate a conversation with him, where he will express his need for something to sober him up.
Step 2: Obtain the Sobering Stone
Next, you’ll need to acquire the Sobering Stone to help the boar regain his senses. Fast travel to the Yellow Wind Formation shrine and head towards Windrest Bridge. Cross the bridge, then veer left toward the houses, and take a right into a nearby courtyard. Inside the house located in the left corner, you’ll find a golden glowing keg. Destroy it to obtain the Sobering Stone, a key item required to progress the quest.
Step 3: Deliver the Sobering Stone to the Boar
Once you have the Sobering Stone, return to Rockrest Flat at the Fright Cliff shrine, where you first met the boar. Hand over the Sobering Stone to him and continue the dialogue until he repeats the same line, signaling that he’s ready for the next phase of the quest.
Step 4: Provide the Boar with a Jade Lotus
With the boar partially sobered up, you’ll need to take another step to fully help him. Travel to the Crouching Tiger Temple shrine and head towards the Temple Entrance. Climb the stairs and take the second path on the right. Here, you’ll find the boar again, but this time he’ll request a Jade Lotus. You can purchase this item from the shrine store. After giving him the Jade Lotus, exhaust all his dialogues until he begins to repeat the same line once more.
Step 5: Confront the Yellow-Robed Squire
After assisting the boar, return to the Fright Cliff shrine and head back to Rockrest Flat. This time, you will encounter the boar’s brother, the Yellow-Robed Squire. He will spawn in the area where you first met the boar. Engage and defeat him to proceed further.
Note: If the Yellow-Robed Squire is not hostile, ensure you’ve already defeated the First Prince of the Flowing Sands. This boss is found at Sandgate Village within the Valley of Despair.
Step 6: Unlock the Kingdom of Sahi
After your victory over the Yellow-Robed Squire, the boar will lead you to a large gate on the side of the area. You can now interact with this gate, unlocking the path to the Secret Kingdom of Sahi. Upon entering, you’ll face a secret boss, the Tiger Vanguard.
Defeat the Tiger Vanguard to continue your journey.
Step 7: Defeat Fuban and Claim Your Reward
After defeating the Tiger Vanguard, you’ll enter a vast desert. At the top of a cliff, you’ll encounter an NPC. Speaking to this NPC will trigger a cutscene where he summons the Fuban boss. Engage and defeat Fuban to earn the Shifting Sands trophy, marking the completion of this secret area.
As a reward for completing this hidden quest, you’ll receive the Wind Tamer vessel, a valuable item that proves particularly effective against flying bosses in the game.
